This is a story about a young second lieutenant Janković who, after graduating from the Military Academy, comes to the unit for his first officer's duty. The film follows the period of his adjustment, getting to know the collective, establishing the first meetings with soldiers and elders, the city and the environment in which he lives. Crises and dilemmas were quickly overcome. The collective accepted the young officer thanks to his knowledge, skill and ability to establish real human relations. This is actually the first and introductory story from the series about the life of an officer.

In June of 1941, at the outset of the Nazi invasion of Russia, a group of Soviet servicemen languidly biding their time at the Brest fortress on the Polish border, are suddenly galvanized into action. All desires to return home to their wives and sweethearts are swept aside as the courageous garrison unites to thwart a common enemy.

The great actress Julia Lambert suddenly realizes that she is, alas, getting old. What can help a woman who has absolutely everything? Only new love. And Julia falls in love with the first person she meets: an ambitious young man who has not a penny behind his soul. So begins a new life - a new romance and new tears. How else could it be?
